Welcome to the Rhondda Symphony Orchestra, we are delighted in your interest in joining us. The RSO is a community-based orchestra and a registered charity. We welcome members of all ages and backgrounds and perform around 3-4 public concerts each year. Please explore this website to look at some of our repertoire from Previous Concerts or listen to some of our own recordings from concerts.
We normally rehearse at Y Pant Comprehensive School, Pontyclun on Thursday evenings, 7:00pm – 9:00pm during school term time.
Unfortunately we have no vacancies currently for wind or brass players, but string players are welcome to enquire about joining us. Please email info@rso.cymru with your name, contact details, instrument and previous experience or standard achieved.
We don't hold auditions or set minimum standards and it's possible to start mid-term. Most string players have at least Grade 6 or 7 but you're welcome to come along for a few weeks to see how you feel about joining. Fully signed up members will need to pay a monthly subscription to cover rehearsal costs (currently under £7/month).
